The Company

Caroline Eve is a successful New Zealand privately owned and operated a retail chain of womenswear stores, based in Tamahere, Hamilton.  The business has been trading for over 30 years and has 40 stores nationwide.   With a progressive change in the retail industry, trading fluctuations and expansions, this highly reputable company are now looking to appoint a full-time Human Resource Advisor.
The Role
In this integral position, the Human Resource Advisor will provide coaching support to all managers, advice on employment-related matters, carry out a range of generalist human resource functions such as policy development, recruitment and selection, health and safety advice, wellbeing interventions and guidance on disciplinary and legislative matters. 
The Person
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of three years generalist HR experience, in “hands-on” roles, preferably with a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and work efficiently under pressure and effective problem solving and analytical and project management skills.
  • High attention to detail, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A high level of professionalism, with a down to earth approach and sense of humour.
  • As a professional, you will keep up to date with relevant employment law precedent decisions to ensure that the company uses best practice in procedures and processes in dealing with employees.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and be flexible in your work style and ready to “muck in” if needed.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to think strategically.
  • A pro-active and independent attitude that will allow you to take responsibility.
  • A willingness to travel to our national locations and support management on HR issues.
