ZB Homes - Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Business
ZB Homes is locally owned and has been operating for almost 2 decades.  We are a residential building company that Bay of Plenty locals trust and depend on for quality, flexibility, and progress. These values are the reason why many of our customers have come back and work with us again and again!

The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of residential construction ZB Homes projects that meet our high standards, are on time and within cost.  This includes:
  • Preparing schedules of quantities and associated costs based on architects' and engineers' building plans
  • Reviewing information in relation to quantities and costs
  • Supporting finance and in-house systems
  • Developing and analyzing reports
  • Working collaboratively within the ZB Homes team
The Person
The Quantity Surveyor is considered part of the ZB Homes senior leadership team.  You will:
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Have a Quantity Surveying background with proven (5+ years) experience in residential construction projects
  • Have an excellent knowledge of residential building methods and materials
  • Understand relevant legislation, including the New Zealand Building Code, the New Zealand Building Act 2004 and local by-laws
  • Be comfortable working on the computer, using Excel to an advanced level and will preferably have experience using BuilderTrend or a similar system
  • Enjoy being self-managed as well as working as part of a team
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be details focused and accurate
  • Be a team player and solution orientated
  • Hold and maintain a clean NZ drivers licence (Class 1 manual and automatic)
