A prominent position is now available. Reporting to the General Manager, City Growth, the Planning Guidance Unit Manager is a role of significant influence within Hamilton City Council as it holds an important responsibility to the public, internal teams, councillors, contractors and many other stakeholders. The responsibilities for this role are managing a team of consents planners, compliance officers and support staff of 25 people. The position exercises considerable professional judgement, requires well-developed negotiation and people skills, political nous and a high level of RMA/planning expertise.
As this role plays a vital part of the growth of Hamilton City, we are seeking someone with considerable influence and vast knowledge of the RMA. This is suited to someone that demonstrates inclusive leadership skills, can build lasting relationships and is comfortable in a role that addresses conflict on a regular basis.
